Justin Jinsoo Kim
Justin Jinsoo Kim is an experimental filmmaker and animator based in South Korea and the United States. His moving-image work explores memories, myths, and the possibility of animation form as an alternative approach to documentation. Kim’s work has been screened internationally, including at the New York Film Festival, EXiS (Experimental Film & Video Festival in Seoul), Transient Visions Festival of the Moving Image, WNDX Festival of Moving Image, Fracto Experimental Film Encounter, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and Jeonju International Film Festival. He has had a solo screening at the Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater (REDCAT, USA). Kim received an MFA in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts and is a recipient of the MacDowell Fellowship (2022).
