Hillerbrand+Magsamen
Hillerbrand+Magsamen are a Houston-based collaborative artist duo. Their work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at FotoFest (Houston, TX), Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Grand Rapids Art Museum (Grand Rapids, MI), Everson Museum (Syracuse, NY), Blue Sky, the Oregon Center for the Photographic Arts (Portland, OR), Visual Arts Center of NJ (Summit, NJ), Center for Contemporary Art (Santa Fe, NM), Griffin Museum of Photography (Winchester, MA), and Center for Photography at Woodstock (Woodstock, NY). Presentations at festivals include the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Fusebox Festival (Austin, TX), CounterCurrent Festival (Houston, TX), The Momentary (Bentonville, AR), Chicago Underground Film Festival, and Diffusion Photography Festival (Wales, UK).
Hillerbrand+Magsamen have received support from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Sustainable Arts Foundation, Mid-America Arts Alliance, Austin Film Society, Houston Arts Alliance, Houston Endowment, and the Experimental Television Center. They have been awarded residencies at ISCP, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Residency, Aurora PhotoCenter, Wassaic Project, Vermont Studio Center, I-Park, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Elsewhere, Lawndale Art Center, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, and the Santa Fe Art Institute.
They are currently working on a new public artwork for the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport's 2030 expansion, commissioned by the City of Austin through the Art in Public Places Program and sponsored by Austin Aviation.
