Live @ LOW END | Tyler Eschendal
LOW END
724 S. 12th Street
Omaha, NE 68102
Tyler Eschendal presents ACTIONS, a solo performance piece of music and theater that explores the musicality of speech and communication, redefines fluency, and confronts what it is like to live with a stutter.
Each movement presents a different verbal or physical action (Arguing, Acting, Singing, Ordering, and Explaining) that uses percussion, theatrical monologues, personal anecdotes, and singing as a frame to draw attention to the experience of stuttering and neurodiversity.
Tyler Eschendal (he/him) is a composer, percussionist, and videographer based in Princeton, NJ. Speech, stuttering, and (dis)fluency are topics at the core of his work, which is often explored through short film and live theater. As a composer, Eschendal's music has been performed at institutions across the US and abroad, showcased at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, American Composers Orchestra, Andriessen Festival, Young Composers Meeting (NL), Blackbird Creative Lab, and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. As a multidisciplinary artist, Eschendal has held residencies at MacDowell, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Loghaven Artist Residency. His music and media has been showcased by The Stuttering Foundation, UPenn For(u)m Conference, and Eyrie Festival, among others. He is currently a PhD candidate in Composition at Princeton University.
