Pod Blotz is Suzy Poling's musical alias, and the long-standing project has released over 25 cassettes and vinyl releases and has toured the US and EU for years. They have performed at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Recombinant Media Labs Festival, Hospital Productions Festival, Colour Out of Space Festival, San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, Blaues Rauschen Festival, Contemporary Jewish Museum, Berkeley Art Museum, and The Lab. Pod Blotz has released music with Dais Records, L.I.E.S., Chocolate Monk (UK), Nostilevo (LA), Conjunto Vacio (Spain), ClanDestine Records (UK), and Dungeon Taxis (NZ/NYC), among others.
Pod Blotz is a Detroit-based Audiovisual project that combines video art, datamoshing, and refractive kinetic mirror sculptures, creating a future-facing electronic experience. Pod Blotz creates sound structures by combining electronics, techno, IDM, sound art, drone, field recordings, syncopated pulse, and textures into abstract arrangements. Pod Blotz merges modular synthesis, fractured vocals, and expansive noise sequences into a speculative sci-fi narrative that explores the intersection of body, machine, and geological metaphor. The sonic artifacts appear as post-human signals: rhythmically charged and aesthetically alien.
