The Bemis Center Community Arts program originated from the Art 4 Omaha Initiative, which was designed to increase public awareness of art and enhance the city’s cultural landscape. Beginning in 2005, Art 4 Omaha developed a series of projects, including large-scale sculptures, leadership workshops, and a crowd-sourced photography exhibit. Direct community involvement in these projects created a sense of personal ownership in the contemporary culture of our city. The significant civic, cultural, and educational impact Art 4 Omaha had on the city influenced the Bemis Center Community Arts program.
