Steve Gurysh

Pittsburgh, PA

Steve Gurysh’s practice seeks viable methods for being in two places at once, transporting seemingly isolated events into collocated phenomena, and materializing global networks of exchange. His work oscillates between discreet material-specific and process-driven investigations to curatorial platforms involving other artists and research specialists. During his Bemis residency, Gurysh will be finishing production on 3D printed and slip cast ceramic objects for an installation scheduled this summer in Calgary, Alberta as part of a joint commission between the City of Calgary Public Art Program and the Utilities and Environmental Protection Department and presented by Watershed+ Dynamic Environment Lab.
