Emma Piper-Burket is a visual artist, filmmaker, and writer. Her work is process-based and research-driven, incorporating social trends, ancient history, science, politics, ephemera, and the natural world into her creative practice. She uses non-fiction audiovisual material, both found and recorded herself, to find ways of re-orienting human perception to be more inclusive of the natural world. At Bemis, Piper-Burket will work on her film project and an accompanying installation about agriculture and the anthropocene titled Jarmo (and its consequences), as well as a series of short 16mm nature films for the future.
