Antoine Lefebvre

Brooklyn, NY
February 1st - April 1st, 2014

Antoine Lefebvre's sculpture, video, animation and performance art question what connects and binds us to places. An immigrant himself, the artist looks at how globalization and digital technologies have transformed our relationship to space, and how one can create a sense of place in a complex and multilayered world. The artist earned a BA in Geography from the University Toulouse-le-Mirail, France and an MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons the New School for Design in New York and completed a degree of postgraduate study in motion pictures and audiovisual techniques with a specialization in arts & electronic media from the École Supérieure D’Etudes Cinématographiques in Paris, France. He has exhibited his work widely in venues such as Flecker Gallery (Selden, NY), Hillyer Art Space (Washington, DC) and Nr. z. P gallery (Bielefeld, Germany). A nominee for a Joan Mitchell Grant, Lefebvre has had residencies at Artists Unlimited, Sculpture Space and the Fountainhead Residency program.
