Painter Angela Fraleigh questions social constructs of beauty, class, gender and role play. Her narrative paintings examine the complications of desire, what power people have available to them and how they use that power.

Fraleigh holds an MFA from Yale University and BFA from Boston University. She has exhibited widely at numerous venues including P.P.O.W Gallery, NY, NY, Inman Gallery Houston, TX, Massimo Audiello Gallery, NY, NY the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, TX. She has been nominated for the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award, the Louis Comfort Tiffany grant, and has participated in several international artist-in-residence programs. Her work has been written about by Ken Johnson of the NYTimes, Claire Barliant of Artforum and Modern Painters, Michelle White Associate Curator at the Menil Collection, and Elizabeth Dunbar. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections including the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Fraleigh serves as an Assistant Professor at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.
