David Seiler

Denver, CO
January 1 – March 29, 2005

David Seiler creates interactive sculptures,, some of which are modeled after motoscopes, turn-of-the-century penny arcade “peep show” machines. When the handle is cranked, photos flip past a viewer to create the illusion of a moving picture. Additionally, Seiler is interested in creating large ceramic vessels with slip drawings that depict modern American societal issues, such as rioting, homelessness and long work days for little money. Seiler earned his BFA from Metropolitan State College of Denver. He has exhibited widely in solo and group shows and works as an installer and art handler at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities in Arvada, CO.
