Paul Mpagi Sepuya (b. 1982, San Bernardino, CA) is a photographer. He received his BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and his MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. Sepuya has had solo shows at Franklin Art Works, Minneapolis, MN; Team Gallery, New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA; Document Gallery, Chicago, IL; and Fotomuseum Amsterdam, Netherlands; among others. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions including the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York, NY; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA; New Museum, New York, NY; and Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, IL; among others. Sepuya was awarded the Rema Hort Mann Foundation’s Los Angeles Emerging Artist Grant in 2017.
