Did You Know... Ceramics

Did you know. . .

. . . the Bemis Center's Annual Art Auction features one of the best line-ups of ceramic artists in the world?

This year is no exception. Our lots include Betty Woodman , the first ceramist to receive a retrospective at New York's venerable Met and Jun Kaneko, who was profiled on a full front page of the Sunday New York Times this year. And let's not forget Toshiko Takaezu, perhaps one of the most significant ceramists in the contemporary art world.

Did you know . . .

. . . we also have works by the next up-and-coming generation?

Artists include Jess Benjamin, Richard Chung and Alexander Comminos -- all of whom, not coincidentally, have apprenticed with Kaneko in his Omaha studio.

Did you know . . .

. . . that many of the medium's next greats have also donated to the Auction?

They include Rebekah Bogard, Mark Gordon, Gerit Grimm & Ryan LeBar , Zak Hamilton, Alisa Holen, Susan McGilvrey, Debbie Masuoka , Amy Nelson, Garr Ugalde and Liz Vercruysse.

Did you know. . .

. . . you won't find a more impressive offering of ceramic works anywhere? And with artists at all points of their careers, you also won't find a better range of prices.
