Since 1985, the Bemis Center for the Contemporary Arts has supported over 600 artists with live/work studios and monthly stipends. The spirit and programs of the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts are based on the conviction that exceptional talent deserves to be supported. The artist-in-residence program received a record breaking 593 applications from which the following twelve artists were selected for January through June 2012 residencies.

The jurors were Margaret Meehan, a 2009 Artist-in-Residence and adjunct professor at the University of Texas, Morgan Schwartz, a 2009 Artist-in-Residence and Assistant Professor of Digital Media at Marymount Manhattan College and Aaron Holz, Professor of Painting at the University of Nebraska.
