Mary Warner's large-scale paintings are a study in contrasts where lavishness meets hyperrealism and quintessential upends quaint in extreme close-up depictions of the most common and oft painted of objects, flowers and botanicals. A 2008 recipient of a Nevada State Fellowship from the Nevada State Council on the Arts, Warner sandwiched a 1973 graduate exchange program at the Art Institute of Chicago in between her BA and MFA work at California State University - Sacramento (1971 and 1974).
