In her acrylic paintings, Lee examines urban landscapes under transition. Using architectural and geographic features as social markers, Lee reveals the city’s perpetual changes and political dynamics, such as segregation, abandonment, decay, gentrification and redevelopment. Lee earned her BFA in Painting from Seoul National University, Korea. She also received an MFA in Painting from Seoul National University as well as an MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. The artist lives and works in New York.
