Hager produces surreal films to question the relationship between humans and animals. In one video, a character resembling Little Bo Peep wanders through a dream-like landscape as taxidermy animals spontaneously appear, moving like robots. In another project, she focused on genetically altered animals created for harvesting organs. The artist earned her BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and her MFA in Media Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. She currently lives and works in California.
