Painting
This artist translates archetypal symbols from Islam, Judaism and Christianity into textured paintings composed of gold, silver and red. Referencing the central, symmetrical and reversed perspectives in traditional iconography, Preiss abstracts it in a process that recalls the practice of alchemy. The artist received his BA in Scenography from the Art Academy of Latvia and an MA from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Preiss currently lives and works in London.
