Description: Join us as current artists-in-residence Natasha Bowdoin, Jake Beckman, and Jang soon Im present their work during the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts’ First Thursday Art Talk on July 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm. As always, Art Talk is free and open to the public.

Natasha Bowdoin’s meticulous constructions of cut paper mine various literary sources as raw material, liberating the text from language's usual structural expectations. Jake Beckman’s sculptures play upon the visual language of industry and the manufactured environment to explore the American connection to the material world. The whimsical mixed media paintings, drawings, collages, and videos of Jang soon Im gather inspiration from ancient Asian military culture.
