Description: WHAT: First Thursday Art Talk for February
WHEN: Thursday, February 2, 2012, 7:00 pm
WHERE: Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, 12th & Leavenworth, Omaha, NE
Join us as current artists-in-residence Matthew Radune, Eric Zimmerman and collaborators Lauren Was and Adam Eckstrom, of Ghost of a Dream, present their work during the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts’ First Thursday Art Talk on February 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm. As always, Art Talk is free and open to the public.
Ghost of a Dream recreates opulence out of aspirational cultural items like spent lottery tickets and romance novels that typically end up in the trash. Matthew Radune has worked on a series of collaborations under the name The Wilding Corporation that explore human ecology, focusing on the relationships between humans and their natural, social and built environments. Eric Zimmerman’s intimate graphite drawings, sculptures and writings examine romantic myths and symbols of the American West.
