Historically, the Archivist's mission has been to ensure the protection and preservation of records, historical documents and artifacts for future generations. The Researcher's role is to reinterpret and trace patterns within given parameters. This is the perspective that Cuthbert & Solzberg adopt within their most recent body of work, which presents a range of ideas that support their investigations. The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is pleased to present the solo exhibition Research & Notations: Investigations In Source Energies, on view March 7th - May 17th, 2008. An Opening Reception takes place Friday, March 7th, from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The artists also present an informal Gallery Tour on Saturday, March 8th, at 12:00 noon. Both events are free, and the public is warmly invited to attend.

Cuthbert & Solzberg have created an installation for the Bemis Center, which articulates the current phase of their ongoing conceptual project. Incorporating drawing, video, photography, sound, hand-sewn tapestries, artifacts and replicas, the installation draws inspiration from historical societies, academic research and Shamanism. As Archivists and Researchers, Cuthbert & Solzberg aim to reclaim, preserve and present artifacts relating to Source Energies.
