This year, two incredible events for the price of one -- a SILENT auction in the Underground November 4th and a SILENT and LIVE auction Gala on November 6th.
Artists form the core of the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. The organization was founded and is run by artists, and our artist-in-residence program has supported over 750 artists since 1981. This art auction is our largest yearly event, and directly benefits future artists in residence. Over 250 artists from throughout the world are participating in this cyclical fundraising event, through which artists support artists.
The 12th Annual Art Auction presents a significant expansion from previous years — spurred by the revitalized Bemis Underground and renovated gallery spaces — the auction exhibitions feature over 375 works spanning the first floor and Underground.
This vast survey of contemporary art makes rich connections between art produced in our region and artists working internationally. The event celebrates the value contemporary artists bring to our world and provides an ideal opportunity for the public to directly engage and contribute to the continued vitality of artists working in Omaha.
