Bemis08: Creativity Festival would not so easily be moved

The flash storm that swept through Omaha on Day Two of the festival sent us scrambling for cover, but the Omaha spirit shone through when a second deluge, this time a human one, swamped the Bemis Center for the evening events...
An impromptu kinetic installation piece won rave reviews as a mattress floated down Leavenworth and hung a left – without signaling – onto 12th Street before coming to rest as a soggy doormat perfectly squared at the base of the stairs leading up to the building. Bemis08 rose to the occasion and an intrepid crowd enjoyed performances by the Omaha Modern Dance Collective and UNO’s The Moving Company, Susann Suprenant’s Labyrinth, UNO’s Artificial Music Initiative, David Matysiak’s Video Revolutions and Brent Cramptons’ dance panic, loom.
