EVERYONE GOT CREATIVE FOR THE GREATER GOOD
Posted on 12/01/2007
When over 100 people come together to discuss creativity in the community, you can bet that ideas were innovative, imaginative and yes, creative. On Saturday, February 9, people from across the community attended the Bemis Center's "Building a Creative Community Panel" and interacted with an eclectic group of panelists who each had ideas about how to contribute. Artists, musicians and people impassioned by the arts all took part in dynamic exchanges about social issues that included a wide range of issues such as diversity and education. People were genuinely excited, and a strong sense of enthusiasm existed as everyone realized that individuals could help the arts grow and that anyone could make an impact on the community.
And long after the panel discussion was over, the audience continued the conversation in the Bemis Center's galleries, indicating that this was just the beginning of making Omaha a true creative hub with arts unlike anywhere else in the Midwest. Stay tuned as we explore ways to make this happen right now, right here, right in our own community.
Special thanks to our panelists Brent Crampton, Joey Lynch, Brigitte McQueen, Larry Roots, Suzanne Wise.
