The Board of Directors of the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts announced the appointment of Adam Price as Executive Director, effective February 25, 2013.
“Adam is an exceptional leader with a passion for supporting artists and a deep appreciation of contemporary art. He is the right person to carry out the Bemis mission,” said Fred Clark, President of the Bemis Board.
Price most recently was Executive Director of the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Columbia University.
The Bemis Executive Director Search Committee was led by Bemis board member Todd Simon, and included eight additional board members and two staff members. The extensive 3-month search process resulted in over 40 candidates from all over the world. The top two candidates were brought into Omaha for interviews, tours and meetings. The Executive Director position requires fundraising and development skills, management and leadership experience, community engagement and respect for the mission of the Bemis Center.
“Adam stood out as the most qualified candidate in all areas. We are confident he has the knowledge, passion and leadership skills to take the Bemis to the next level,” Simon said.
“The Bemis has an international reputation for supporting exceptional talent. I could not be more thrilled to become the next Executive Director. I look forward to working with the staff and board of this amazing organization,” Price said.
