Dating to the 1920s, Tyler R. Owen is the 4th generation of Owens to work at Paxton & Vierling Steel Company (PVS), a structural fabrication and steel service center in Carter Lake, IA. PVS is now just one division of Owen Industries, a company that owns and controls 5 divisions of steel warehouse and processing companies across the Midwest. Owen currently serves as the General Manager for the Steel Fabrication Division of PVS, as well serving as President of Lincoln Structural Solutions (LSS), a separate division of Owen Industries devoted to the supply of nuclear compliant materials also located in Omaha. After spending two years with the company in the mid-1990s, Owen returned in 2001 after spending nearly 5 years in Los Angeles working as a musician and running an independent record label. Along with his duties at Owen Industries, much of his time is devoted to SanOma Partners, a family commercial property partnership that owns and manages several retail properties in Eastern Nebraska. Owen sits on the board of the Omaha Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, and is a past member of both the Omaha Public Library Foundation Board and the Omaha Human Rights and Relations Board for the City of Omaha. He is one of the founders of the nine-year-old Maha Music Festival, a nonprofit music festival held annually in downtown Omaha. Owen and his wife Lisa, a native Californian, have four children and currently live in the Dundee area.
