Deborah Masuoka
Okada Sculpture Facility Coordinator
In October 2004, Deborah Masuoka was appointed as the Okada Sculpture Facility Coordinator and assumed all responsibilities related to the Bemis Center's large-scale sculpture fabrication facilities. These responsibilities include preparing and coordinating studios for new residents and maintaining the facility and all tools and equipment used in large-scale sculpture fabrication.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Deborah earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. A former 1989 Artist-in-Residence at the Bemis Center, she has exhibited her large-scale "Rabbit Heads" nationally. Deborah's sculptures are included in the collections of the Sheldon Memorial Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska, the Arizona State University Art Museum and Iowa State University's Reiman Gardens as well as in numerous private collections across the country.
