Clay Smith is President of Speedway Motors and co-founder and General Partner of Speedway Properties, two family businesses based in Lincoln, NE. Smith earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University, graduating with distinction. He went on to earn his master’s degree in industrial engineering and engineering management from Stanford University. Prior to re-joining Speedway on a full-time basis, Smith worked with the Booz Allen & Hamilton consulting firm in New York City and the Hellman & Friedman investment banking firm in San Francisco. Smith is active in Lincoln, having served on the boards of dozens of community organizations. He is currently Chairman of the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission.
